Burial terms and conditions
Higher Ground Meadow is available for all faiths, religions or beliefs. The land is not consecrated ground but if desired individual grave spaces may be blessed.
Coffins and urns will need to be chosen from the range of environmentally friendly materials.
Because this is a green site we request that the deceased are not embalmed. Please ensure this is made clear to your funeral director. Occasionally an exception will be made if the process is deemed necessary for health and safety/medical reasons.
No bodies can be exhumed unless so required by law.
The long term security of Higher Ground Meadow is of paramount importance to us and likewise we know it will be to people purchasing graves.
It is our express wish that after our deaths it will continue to be in the ownership of our direct descendants, and continue with the same management programme. If for any reason this becomes impossible then Higher Ground Meadow will be gifted to a Wildlife Trust.
